Chase & Status released their seventh studio album, Generic Everything, on October 9 through their own label, 2RUFF Records. It's their first album since 2022's What Came Before, and every one of its ten tracks has a different featured artist.

Skrillex features on one track, putting a dubstep name next to grime MCs Giggs and D Double E on the same record. Grime grew out of the same UK soundsystem lineage as jungle and dancehall, so the whole tracklist sits closer to this site's beat than the credits might suggest. It is also a rare guest credit for Skrillex outside his own records.

The detail

Saul Milton and Will Kennard broke through in the mid-2000s fusing drum and bass with garage and dubstep, and have built a catalogue of festival mainstays since. Generic Everything is built around one idea: a guest on every song. J Hus and IRAH open the record on "Disgruntled." Saam Sultan features on "Tension," Little Simz on "Carnage," and Skrillex on a later cut. Blanco and Finesse Kid turn up on "Juggin," D Double E on "Levels," Ledbyher on "Influence," Debbie on "Gone Too Far," and Giggs on "Timber." IRAH returns with Col3trane to close the record on "Shutdown."

The duo pressed the album to vinyl through 2RUFF Records and are taking it on the road next year. The UK and Europe arena tour runs February 18 to March 26, 2027, with stops in Glasgow, Manchester, Amsterdam and Brussels.
