Rudimental released "Send Shots" on August 24, 2026, a drum and bass single built around Jamaican singer Koffee and Nigerian singer Winny. Black Butter Records put it out. It premiered first on BBC Radio 1's Jack Saunders show, then hit streaming.

Why it matters here

The track puts dancehall vocals straight through a UK drum and bass frame, the same soundsystem-to-club line this site follows every week. Koffee sings in her reggae-rooted patois over Rudimental's thunderous percussion and a heavyweight bassline built for a festival's peak-time moment. Winny's Afropop-leaning vocal fills out the second half. Coverage framed the single as a return to "pirate radio, Jamaican sound system culture, and rave energy," not a one-off mashup. The pairing holds up: Koffee's cadence stays intact even at a much faster tempo than her own records usually run.

The detail

Koffee, born Mikayla Simpson, won the 2020 Grammy for Best Reggae Album for her "Rapture" EP: the youngest artist, and the first woman, to win the category solo. She announced "Send Shots" on Instagram with just the title and a couple of emojis. Winny, born Winifred Ohili Adanu in Benue State, Nigeria, has built a catalog mixing reggae, R&B and Afropop since her 2022 debut single "Pull Up." "Send Shots" is her highest-profile placement yet.

The single is also something of a homecoming for Rudimental. The East London trio launched their career on Black Butter Records more than a decade ago with "Feel the Love." "Send Shots" follows their summer single "Love You More," and the label says more music is coming in the next few months. The official video, directed by Jesse James, was shot entirely in Kingston, Jamaica.

Where to go next

Rudimental play NX in Newcastle upon Tyne on December 12, one of two new tour dates added to this site's events list this week, alongside Mungo's Hi Fi's December 12 show in Nice, France. Stream "Send Shots" on Spotify. More on Rudimental's catalog, including the rest of their drum and bass and reggae crossovers, is on Rudimental's artist page on this site.
